What AYPO ensembles have you played in and for how long?
I have played in AYP for just this one year.
Your advice for young musicians?
Listen to music. Of all the times you could have been born in, you were born at just the right time to have every single classical album ever published right at your fingertips, take advantage of that.
What college/university do you plan on attending this fall?
Virginia Tech, Engineering
A favorite, or memorable AYPO experience?
I remember receiving the email saying that I had been accepted into AYP, which felt great knowing how far I'd come from barely caring about music in 8th grade.
What do you hope to do after graduation?
Definitely something in the STEM field primarily, and I really hope to continue doing music as well.
What musician, conductor, or orchestra inspires you and why?
I listened to a podcast (Smartless) with LA Phil director Gustavo Dudamel as a guest, and it really sounded like he had the right idea as to how to spread classical music to the masses.
