music buddies mentorship program
The Music Buddies Mentorship Program allows students in Alexandria City Public Schools access to free music lessons. AYPO musicians instruct and mentor these students during hour-long lessons and weekly ensembles. The Music Buddies Program gives AYPO musicians beginning experiences as music educators, and gives ACPS students the opportunity to learn an instrument through individualized instruction.
junior chamber ensemble mentorship program
The AYPO Junior Chamber Ensemble Program provides middle school age AYPO musicians with the chance to learn early concepts of performing as a chamber musician. Mentors for the Junior Chamber Ensemble Program are string musicians from the American Youth Philharmonic (AYP) and the American Youth Symphonic Orchestra (AYSO). These mentors provide feedback and assistance to the young Junior Chamber musicians each week on Monday evenings throughout the season.
summer string academy mentorship program
Summer String Academy Mentors work throughout the week of Summer String Academy with eager young musicians in grades 3-9. During the String Academy, mentors participate in a side-by-side ensemble, provide one-on-one private music instruction, coach sectionals and assist with music literacy instruction.
