What is your current AYPO ensemble?
AYP
What AYPO ensembles have you played in and for how long?
AYSE in 2018-2019, AYCO in 2019-2020, AYSO in 2021-2022, and AYP in 2022-2023.
Your advice for young musicians?
Figure out what playing music truly means to you. Find a love for it outside of winning auditions or competitions, and that will ensure your love for music will never die. And don't compare yourself to other musicians; every musician brings something different to the table, so lean into what makes YOU special as a musician and be proud of yourself.
What college/university do you plan on attending this fall?
University of Virginia, Cognitive Science.
A favorite, or memorable AYPO experience?
My favorite AYPO experience was performing Tchaikovsky's 4th symphony this year in AYP. It was a great experience for me and I loved that piece of music so much.
What do you hope to do after graduation or your more long-term goals?
One of my dreams is to travel the world in the future, specifically to Scandinavia and Australia. I would also love to continue painting and drawing in the future, either by opening my own studio or teaching.
What musician, conductor, or orchestra inspires you and why?
A musician that inspires me is Hilary Hahn. Not only is she an extremely talented and dedicated musician, she has a unique, fresh perspective on practicing that inspires me anytime I am in a practicing rut.
